The Phantom wants her for himself and he doesn't want this man named Raoul to have her. The Phantom sends mysterious notes to the head of the Opera telling him that Christine should have the lead role and not someone else. Terrible things begin to happen to people who don't listen to the Phantom and everyone is trying to find out who this strange person is.
